Care for a free iPod? (Friday, November 26, 2004)
That's right, I said free iPod. Check out the information on ebay. Don't bid on the auction, just follow the instructions! I did this for myself, and now I'm doing it for Sarah, so help us out, and help yourself out too!
As an added side-note, the Huskers finished their season today with a loss. That makes this the first losing season since 1961. Thanks Steve Pederson (for those of you who don't know who this person is, he is the atheletic director of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, who decided last season to fire head coach Frank Solich after a 9-3 season). Although I think our new coach, Bill Callahan, will bring us some wins, it probably won't be anytime soon. I feel he's got a lot to learn about college football and Nebraska. But I'm sure he'll catch on, and maybe he'll become Nebraska's version of Bob Stoops. Then again, maybe not.

Planning for... retirement?! (Wednesday, November 24, 2004)
So early? Sure! There's no better time than the present to start. I opened a 401(k) through work (AAA Nebraska/Lincolnland Towing). Currently, I'm set-up to contribute 3% of my pre-tax pay. And the company will match, dollar-for-dollar, my contributions up to 3%. So I'm doubling my money!
Not to mention I'm also starting an automatic savings plan through ING Direct to automatically deduct a certain amount of money from my bank account every payday. So you might say I'm well on my way to planning for retirement.
(Side note: If you are interested in opening an ING Direct savings account, be sure to let me know. I'll give you $25 just for opening an account through me! And ING Direct currently has one of the higest APY's in the nation, at 2.25%!!!)
Anyways, other than that, not much else to report. I'm working, and actually enjoying it. I love the swing shift. I'm a night person anyways.
So until next time,...

Oh my God! (Thursday, November 18, 2004)
It's getting to be that time of the year again... Christmas time. Yea, I know, it's not even Thanksgiving yet. And still, stores have their Christmas displays out. It's amazing how every year, the Christmas "shopping season" starts earlier and earlier.
This holiday season, I think I'll shop on eBay. No lines, no hassles, and they accept Visa (then again, who doesn't?). They also accept PayPal (after all, eBay does own PayPal, so why wouldn't they?).
And not to mention, eBay usually has some hard-to-find items, such as the 10 year old grilled cheese sandwich, which supposedly has the image of the virgin mary on it. It's amazing what people will buy, as of this time the bids are up to $7,600. I've got an idea, I'll cook up a bunch of grilled cheese sandwiches, and sell them on eBay while claiming there is an image of spongebob squarepants. I should make enough to retire. Maybe not.
Also, you could check out my listing, which is for a FREE iPod (read the details). It's worth a look at least.
Anyways, that's about it for now. More to come later!

Presidential Decision (Wednesday, November 03, 2004)
Approximately half an hour ago (10:00am Central, 11:00am Eastern), Presidential Candidate John Kerry called President Bush to Concede. Fox News has announced that President Bush has won New Mexico, which gives him 274 electoral votes, 4 more than what is needed to win the Presidency. So George Bush has been re-elected President for 4 more years!
Congratulations, Mr. President. And to everyone else on the Bush campaign.
To John Kerry and his supporters: you fought the good fight. This country is nearly evenly divided, and I hope we can bring us all together.
Once again, congratulations President Bush!

Election Day (Tuesday, November 02, 2004)
Well, although it's early, and tough to say, it right now looks like Bush may be ahead. And that's a good thing! I believe Bush would bring 4 more years of strong leadership to America.
And for those of you who are pro-Kerry, I ask you this: can you tell me anything about Kerry's past, post-Vietnam, pre-2004? I didn't think so. And neither is he. Bush is laying it all on the line, we all know what he's done for the country in the last 4 years. So let's give him 4 more to continue his leadership. God bless George Bush!

My political soap box (Monday, November 01, 2004)
Tomorrow is the big day for America. Tomorrow will tell us who will be the "big cheese" for the next four years. So who will the top job go to? At this point it's hard to say. But allow me to offer my opinion.
Let's put Bush back in office for 4 more years. I like what I've seen, and I'm hungry to see more. I'm not at all interested in what a liberal like Kerry would do. I'll be honest, I was almost inclined to vote for Nader. His views more closely align with what I would like to see for this great nation, but in the end, I'm a tried and true Republican.
And to all you "big shots" (ie actors/actresses, music stars, etc) who are speaking out... consider this a big f*** you! I'd be willing to personally buy you a one-way ticket to your choice of Iraq or Afghanistan. Don't like your choices? I'd even consider Iran or North Korea. You all should die.
Anyways, enough for tonight. God bless America, and go Bush!
