News Updates (Sunday, August 07, 2005)

Well, it's been a little while (so what else is new), so here's your news updates to catch you up.

Remember a while back I promised hosting? Well it's here! That's right, I've finally opened the doors on my hosting company. Well, kinda. I've got everything in place, just putting all the pieces together right now. As soon as it's completely done, I'll post the link to the site so you can check it out for yourself. Prices are reasonable too!

I'm slowly becoming obsessed again with FreeBSD. There's just something sexy about a complete operating system... while Linux is great, we too often forget that Linux, in itself, is just a kernel. Many other "tools" are placed on top of it to create an operating system, or distribution. And there are inconsistencies between distributions. With FreeBSD, everything is all rolled in to one. Kernel, userspace utilities, etc. So you're guaranteed a consistent experience. Not to mention that little Daemon is so cute!

Anyways, I'll let you know when we're "officially" open for hosting business.
