Weekly update (Tuesday, February 01, 2005)
Ok, I know it's early into the week, but I've got an update already.
A new breath of life has entered Beanie's lungs. That's right, my retired web server was brought back to life this evening. After installing a hard drive that was twice the size of the original (I was too lazy before to do so), and installing FreeBSD 5.3 on it, I'm preparing it to be my back-up web server. My primary server is still an IBM 300 series, but just a bit newer, and runs Debian 3.1 (aka Sarge or testing). At least I have a plan in place. Now I have only one open KVM port and one open switch port. I'll be needing new hardware if I expand anymore. Come to think of it, the only reason why I have one port open on each is because my HP NetServer LPr isn't hooked up to anything right now...
Also news, my new website has gone live. Don't worry, AaronandSarah.net is still my primary website, but this new one is for my business. I run it off of my (you guessed it) web server here at home, affectionately called Minime. You should at least check it out. More things to come later, like a real domain name, etc.
