'Tis the season! (Friday, December 10, 2004)
That's right, it's Christmas time again. Ugh. As if we didn't have enough bills to pay. But this season, give something a little different. How about the gift of stock?
That's right, stock. If you invest in the market, you can give some of your stocks away as a gift, and on top of that, you could write them off on your tax returns this season!
This is an especially great gift to give younger children, or grandchildren. Holding a good growth stock during their growing years can yield good results (although, one stock probably won't mean much).
And, if you don't currently invest in the market, that's no big deal. My brokerage of choice is ShareBuilder (see advertisement), and they offer gift certificates. Talk about a great way to give stock without having to own it! Just give the gift certificate, and let them choose where to park their money in the market (probably better suited for the older children in your family).
Well, that's about all I have for today. Check back later for more!
